Chris Gavaler
Chris Gavaler is an associate professor of English at W&L University, where he serves as comics editor of Shenandoah. He has published two novels, Pretend I’m Not Here (HarperCollins 2002) and School for Tricksters (SMU 2011); two monographs, On the Origin of Superheroes (Iowa 2015) and Superhero Comics (Bloomsbury 2017); and is co-authoring two forthcoming books, Superhero Thought Experiments (with Nathaniel Goldberg, Iowa 2019) and Creating Comics (with Leigh Ann Beavers, Bloomsbury 2020).
