Guest Editor for Poetry: Miriam Green

Miriam Green holds an MA from the Shaindy Rudoff Graduate Program in Creative Writing at Bar Ilan University, and a BA from Oberlin College. Miriam’s work has appeared in Poet Lore, the Prose Poem Project, Poetica Magazine, and others. She is currently working on a project entitled, The Emergency Cookbook: Learning to Cook in the Shadow of Alzheimer’s, which chronicles through prose, poetry and recipes, her mother’s illness.  A 20-year resident of Beer Sheva, Miriam has lived in Israel since 1991. She is a founder of the Beer Sheva chapter of the Poetry group, Voices Israel (www.voicesisrael.com).

 


Guest Editor for Fiction: Tania Hershman

A former science journalist who reported from Israel for 15 years for magazines including WIRED, New Scientist and the Jerusalem Report, Tania Hershman is now based in Bristol, UK. She is the author of two story collections: My Mother Was An Upright Piano: Fictions(Tangent Books, 2012), a collection of 56 very short fictions, and The White Road and Other Stories (Salt, 2008; commended, 2009 Orange Award for New Writers) . Tania’s award-winning short stories, flash fiction and poetry are published or forthcoming in, among others, Five Dials, Stinging Fly, Tears in the Fence, PANK magazine, Smokelong Quarterly, the London Magazine, and New Scientist, and on BBC Radio. She is writer-in-residence in Bristol University’s Science Faculty and editor of The Short Review (www.theshortreview.com), the online journal spotlighting short story collections and their authors.
