Flash Story Contest (with Israel Story)

Submission Deadline Extended: September 15

We are excited to announce that for our Theft issue we are teaming up with the radio show, Israel Story, to hold a flash fiction/non-fiction story contest.

The Ilanot Review and Israel Story are delighted to join forces for a short, short-story contest. We want to read great stories that relate to the theme of “Theft”. They can be true or untrue, in Hebrew or in English—we don’t care. We just want them to be riveting and sleek; no longer than five minutes when read aloud (around 550–650 words).

Send up to two previously unpublished stories as a Word document to ilanotisraelstory@gmail.com, during our reading period, June 1–Sep. 15, and we will select a winner, which will be published by The Ilanot Review and adapted, together with the Israel Story team, to produce a radio version. If the winning story is in Hebrew, it will be aired on the Sipur Yisraelii program on Army Radio (Galei Tzahal) and translated into English at our expense. If it’s in English, it will be published in The Ilanot Review and considered for the Israel Story podcast and radio program.
